i) Some patients get mild inflammation in the eye for a few days.  We try to prevent this by using a steroid drop, such as Pred Forte four times a day.

ii) The pilocarpine drops may make you more short-sighted and give you a headache.

iii) In 15% of cases, the laser needs repeating, as it proves impossible to get a full-thickness hole through the iris in one sitting.
