Blepharitis is a common, non-infectious inflammatory condition of the eyelid margin. It tends to cause sore, uncomfortable eyes but only extremely rarely does it affect vision. Symptoms tend to wax and wane over a few months but rarely disappear for ever. There is often a striking disparity between the symptoms suffered by the patient and the features observed by the ophthalmologist. Many patients derive benefit from cleaning the lid margins on a regular basis. Click here to find out more about this condition.
