The good news is that blepharitis is cyclical, meaning that the symptoms wax and wane naturally with time. Often patients have to put up with irritating symptoms for several months before improvement and can be free of symptoms for years. Some patients respond well to lid hygiene, but many find it difficult and tedious to do and do not find much benefit from it.

Although the symptoms can be improved in most patients, they usually persist to some degree, but with time will eventually subside.
